You’ve Been Brought Into Victory, Don’t Step Outside God’s Plan

Woman praying with open bible.

We have got to start believing that if we follow God’s Word, life will be infinitely sweeter. Not easier, but better. As time goes on, we are watching more and more people turn their backs on God, and as believers, we can’t just observe that without checking ourselves. There is no one in all of existence who compares to our Heavenly Father. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. His goodness doesn’t run out, and His righteousness doesn’t shift. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) tells us, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ (which means ‘Yes’) ascends to God for his glory.” Through Jesus Christ, the promise is already settled. So the question isn’t whether God is going to come through, it’s why we keep allowing the enemy to distract us and pull us out of alignment with what has already been established.

Some believers have taken God’s grace and twisted it into something it was never meant to be. Grace was never a license to stay in patterns that damage our relationship with our Heavenly Father and block what He’s trying to bring into our lives. We find ourselves stuck when we keep practicing the same self-sabotaging patterns. And then we turn around and wonder why things feel stalled, as if God is withholding something from us.

God doesn’t withhold blessings from those who truly honor Him. Psalm 84:11 (NLT) reminds us, “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” Our Heavenly Father isn’t holding back. He’s already shown us how to step into what He’s prepared. From the very beginning, His Word has been the instruction to living a more than abundant life. It not only guides us, it shapes us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Every good thing that He has for us is contained in His glorious Son.

Our wonderful Father never needs to revise His plan. He has never had to pause, rethink, or redo anything He has set in motion. When we find ourselves in difficult situations, we might think that God is up in heaven rearranging things to fix our mistakes. But God doesn’t operate like that. His perfection doesn’t require adjustment. Romans 8:28 (NLT) tells us, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” That doesn’t mean He’s scrambling to fix things. It means He already accounted for everything. His plan was never fragile. It was always complete.

His plans are flawless because they come from who He is. They are the perfect union of His Word, His purpose, and His design for our lives, all working together in Christ. Isaiah 55:9 (NLT) reminds us, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We cannot measure the depth of His thinking. His Will, His Word, and His plan are not separate things, they are one, and they have always been centered in Jesus Christ. John 1:1 (KJV) tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Before anything was formed, His plan was already perfect, already whole, already established in Him.

Nothing you or anyone else does changes God’s plan. It was set before the foundation of the world. What does change is whether we step into it or step outside of it. And the beauty of God is that He still invites us in. He doesn’t lower Himself to meet us in disobedience. Through Jesus Christ, He calls us up. He gives us access to His table, to His presence, to His fullness. We were once partakers of sin by choice, but through Jesus, we’ve been brought into the family of God. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

2 Peter 1:4 (NLT) tells us, “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” Do we really understand what that means? That through Jesus Christ, we’ve been given access to something higher than the patterns that once controlled us. This isn’t just about avoiding sin, it’s about stepping into a new nature, one that reflects Him. God didn’t just call us out of darkness, He lifted us into something greater. So why would we keep reaching for what once held us down when He has already extended us into something that sets us free?

Jesus Christ has given us access to truth, to identity, to real power through the Holy Spirit. We don’t have to live beneath what He has done. We don’t have to keep circling the same patterns, reacting the same way, choosing the same things that slow us down. Bad behavior restricts. Careless words entangle. Doubt pulls us out of alignment with what God has already said is true about us. And when we hold onto those things, they become weight. They slow our movement. They keep us from running with endurance the life God has set before us. If we’re not careful, we’ll find ourselves chasing things that look like light but are rooted in darkness, all while the real thing is right in front of us.

Don’t give the enemy access he didn’t earn. Don’t hand over your momentum to thoughts, habits, or reactions that don’t line up with who you are in Christ. Faith requires something from us. It requires that we lay aside what weighs us down and take our place in what Jesus has already secured. God is faithful. He has called you higher. Through Jesus Christ, you’ve been brought into fellowship with Him, and that changes everything. You are no longer bound. You are no longer defined by what tried to hold you. You’ve been brought into victory. And the only way that victory gets interrupted is if you step out of it. So stay aligned. Stay anchored. And keep moving forward in the light, love, and victory of Jesus Christ. ■
